President Bush,

The court-martials of three Army snipers were wrong. Soldiers who make great sacrifices and risk their lives to win the war against terrorism deserve better treatment from their own government. The convictions of Sergeants Vela and Hensley and Specialist Sandoval should be overturned. Free Evan Vela from prison, return them to their former ranks, give them their withheld military pay and an apology. These soldiers were pushed to the brink of sanity. They took action, which may have saved their lives in an area riddled with Iraqi insurgents. We punished them. They have suffered a grave injustice and so have their families.

Learn more about military dilemmas. Read Lone Survivor by Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell. When an Afghani goat-herder informed the Taliban of their position, Marcus was the only survivor of Operation Redwing. During our war on terror, problematic Rules of Engagement cause soldiers to risk their lives or be wrongly convicted of crimes.

Please speak out in the defense of our troops.
